VIKING CLASSIC VOLUNTEER UNIFORM POLICY FOR STANDARD BEARERS
SHIRTS: All standard bearers of college age or younger MUST wear the free T-shirt they will be given. Adult standard bearers (beyond college age), MUST purchase the regular volunteer golf shirt in the Annandale pro shop, just like all other adult Viking Classic volunteers do.
SHORTS/SLACKS: All standard bearers MUST wear KHAKI-COLORED shorts or slacks. Our lady standard bearers also have the option to wear khaki-colored skirts if they prefer. No blue jeans will be allowed for anyone.
HEADGEAR: The wearing of hats is optional of course, but If you wish to wear any type of hat it MUST be one of the Viking Classic tournament hats. There are several types available to purchase. The headgear policy applies to ALL standard bearers, regardless of age.
With the tournament being later this year you might consider the purchase of a Viking Classic windbreaker for chilly days. All volunteer apparel (with the exception of the free T-shirt) is available for purchase at the Annandale pro shop, which is open Tuesday-Sunday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. If you are interested in purchsing any of the items from the pro shop, we recommend you go as soon as possible before they start running short of everything.
Update on windbreakers (10/1/09). Pro shop tells me they won't have windbreakers in for another week or so.
This information comes straight from the tournament office. We were told that if someone shows up without all the elements of a proper uniform we are not to allow that person to walk. With the tournament on TV and with a still-new sponsor, they especially want everybody to look "sharp".
